The Guardian Angel Catamaran Saona Island

One of the activities that I was looking forward to on my vacation was sailing on a Catamaran to a private Island called Saona Island. There was a man on board with a group of his friends who noticed that I was traveling alone. I don’t know if it is the Spanish culture in particular or just the role of the male in general, but he took on the role of protector or Guardian Angel. After enjoying a swim in the warm mint-julip-colored water, we were invited to partake in a buffet lunch during which time I found myself standing at the back of the food line. The Guardian Angel must have been keeping a watchful eye over me because at one point he appeared while standing next to me, then took me by the hand, and said, “Come with me.” I cautiously said, “Wait a minute, where do you think you’re taking me?” He said, “You are a lady, ladies do not wait at the back of the line for food.” With that, he brought me to the front of the buffet line. I recall reading scripture in Hebrews 13:2 that cautions, “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing so some have unwittingly entertained angels.”  When we arrived back on the mainland, the opportunity to shop for souvenirs was presented. I found a shop that sold T-shirts with the island logo printed on the shirt. While the guardian angel stood by, observing the shop owner, whose only intent was to take advantage of tourists, the guardian angel intervened and prompted the unscrupulous store owner to negotiate the price and sell me not only 3 T-shirts for the price of 1 but somehow convinced him that because of his unscrupulous intent, it would behoove him to provide me with a beverage too, lol. God sends His angels to ascend and descend on the ladder from heaven to earth to intervene as He did on this day in the Dominican Republic.
