One of my goals on my most recent vacation to the Dominican Republic was to heal from a toxic relationship in that I was involved. In order to do so, I had to seek the Lord with my whole heart and soul.
The word of the Lord came to me in the Dominican which said, “Forget the things that are behind and look to the upward calling of God.” Which is the exact scripture in Philippians 3:13-14 states, “…forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, the upward call of God ….” (NKJV)
The New Living Translation puts it this way, “…Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God …. is calling us.” And that is what God was prompting me to do which was to forget the past.
“Keep your eyes on the things above Madeline,” the word of God spoke.
You will know a man by his fruit, by what he produces. Matthew 7:16-20 NKJV. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Branches that do not produce good fruit (unproductive) must be pruned and tossed into the fire to be burned. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
Matthew 7:16-20 NLT states, … “ just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.”
The hand of Our Lord continues to move and bless my life with blessing after insurmountable blessings.
