I attended an event where I had the pleasure of meeting a little 10 yr old Spanish Christian girl whose family has raised her up in the Lord. It was amazing to be in the presence of this child of Christ. The Holy Spirit emanated from the depth of her being. Not only was she wise beyond her years but her outward beauty was that of a queen. She had long thick black hair and deep brown almond-shaped eyes that had a depth of intenseness, wisdom, and maturity that was not often seen in a 10-year-old child. We had a conversation about God’s word. It was wonderful to hear how she shared the word of God with her peers and tried to bring other children to salvation. When she realized that some were not willing to accept Christ she stated that she would continue to pray for them and that maybe someday they will know Christ. She gently corrected those who were inappropriately dressed and encouraged them to adorn themselves in modest apparel as a young Christian should. When asked what she would like to be when she grows up, she stated that she wanted to become an attorney so she could help other people who had been wrongly accused of a crime, she could help them by defending them, she gave examples and presented her case and reasoning to me as if she was an attorney presenting her case before a judge. The child loved the attention of an audience, loved to debate, and loved to defend the underdog. Her level of maturity and wisdom just blew me away because she reminded me of my very dear friend who at the age of 10 knew that she was called by God to be an attorney someday. I called my friend the next day to share with her that I met a little 10 yr. old girl who reminded me of her as a child. My friend was raised up in Christ in the church and knew that at the age of 10 yrs. old she was chosen and called by God to become an attorney someday. Needless to say, my friend was astonished with what I shared about the little girl, as the child reminded my friend of herself when she was just a child. My only regret is that I did not have the child’s contact information to pass on to my friend. My afterthought was that my friend would have been an awesome mentor and a positive influence and source of empowerment in the little girl’s life.
